Before prepping for your wax appointment, please be sure to fill out the waxing intake form that Gloss Genius sends out via email to make sure there are no contraindications prior to getting waxed.
48 hours before your appointment be sure to exfoliate the area that is going to be treated. Using a chemical exfoliation is best. This type of exfoliation helps to gently soften dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, leaving your skin appear brighter and texture free.
After exfoliating, moisturize the skin to lessen irritation and hydrate the skin for a more comfortable session.

If you are considering taking Ibuprofen, take it 30-45 minutes before your appointment.

You are still permitted to get waxed while on your menstrual, but for your own personal comfort it's reccomended to wait at least 2-5 days prior to the start of your period and 2 days after its completed, to receive waxing services due to increased sensitivity.

No hot showers the day of
No direct sunlight for 48 hours
Apply sunscreen to areas that are exposed to the sun
For underarm waxes: Do not wear deodorant up to 24-hours after
No excessive friction or sweating
Do not workout for 24 hours
Moisturize the area daily.
Resume exfoliating 2 days after your wax.
